Bio
Since picking up the Micro-Adventure book Space Attack at age 10, Rudy has had a life long fascination with combining computer programming and story-telling.
Graduating with Distinction in 2000 from McGill University, B.Sc. Computer Science, Rudy had already begun a career in coding; he was the weird kid tasked with figuring out the then-new technology of Java and XML. From those humble beginnings he soon found himself leading development teams, adopting agile practices, while still figuring out how to use the latest and greatest tech in practical ways. In the Summer 2008, he left his position of Director of R&D at WebMD Montreal to join Carbon Five as a Computer Systems Analyst.
Meanwhile, Rudy launched his first web show in 2005; Kitkast, starring his beautiful co-producer Casey McKinnon, was a sex-positive video blog that quickly became the #1 video podcast in the iTunes Store of many nation. He then created Galacticast in 2006, which gained press and awards recognition for its humor and recreation of Hollywood level effects at a garage band budget, growing to a loyal following of quarter million viewers. Most recently, A Comicbook Orange has been regularly featured on YouTube and nominated for 2010 Streamy Award for Best Hosted Web Series.
A vocal defender of open information and the DIY spirit, Rudy enjoys sharing his experiences with others at conferences. Currently residing in Los Angeles and existing on a steady geek diet of comics, movies, books, and video-games, Rudy continues to find ways to merge his three favorite āCās; code, creativity, and Casey.
